2023 Recap

Village School

Dear Friends,

Happy Holidays! It is hard to believe it has been one year since our last newsletter.

Things at TSF are busier than ever. This year was a year of extraordinary volunteerism.

We had over 200 volunteers donating 3,525 hours to support the Tanzania School Foundation in 2023!

We are so grateful for their support and couldn’t do what we do without them! Thank you to each and everyone of you who have donated your time with us. You were a true blessing and we enjoyed working with each and every one of you. We hope to see you in 2024!  If you didn’t find time to volunteer with us in 2023, we hope you will join us in other ways to help TSF support children’s education in 2024.   If you do already, A huge thank you for believing in us!

TSF is truly a volunteer organization. TSF has been a full-time job managing our scholarships, volunteers, website (which I unintentionally crashed and had to rebuild from scratch) events and utilizing our resources for the most impact.

In March I was offered a full-time job back in finance, I could not turn it down. I now work in the Crypto Trading realm and we are open 23/7, 365 days a year! Life has been a bit crazy for me, having two full time work loads and often having only one day off a month. I am looking forward to the slowdown winter brings.

I did travel to Tanzania two times this year, for three weeks in March and again in November. It was good to see some of sponsored students, visiting some of the schools we support, our staff and property and spend time visiting friends.

Our accomplishments this year made possible by many of you.

  • TSF offered scholarships to 16 children
  • Managed our campus property and have been working with other organizations to turn it into a sustainable enterprise.
  • Provided over 5,000 school meals to children in primary school
  • Provided 50 uniforms so children could attend school
  • Donated over 200 pounds of school supplies to primary schools

In 2024, TSF is working to maximize its impact with the resources we have. We are hoping another organization will run our campus and turn it into something remarkable.

We will focus on supporting our long-time sponsored students and not take on any new children. Some of our students are entering Secondary School in 2024 and the cost of education has increased quite a bit due to inflationary pressures.  We have 12 students who we have been sponsoring for 7+ years.

We will continue supporting lunches at local government schools and donating school supplies and uniforms to the neediest children.

We have renewed hope that 2024 will transition into something bigger and better for our school campus. While things look a bit different with me working full time, things have not changed at TSF. I may not be in Tanzania for the same amount of time that I used to be, we have people on the ground in Tanzania working hard. All of us at TSF are working harder than ever to make lasting change in the lives of children in Tanzania.

I hope you join us on our journey in 2024. Even if you don’t receive an update in a timely fashion, know that I am working hard at both of my jobs. One big difference now, is I am a substantial donor too!

Join me…

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful 2024, filled with hope for a brighter tomorrow.

Love,

Christine and Team TSF
